Creative Math Activity – Matching Numbers to Number Names.
Our LKG children participated in a fun and engaging math activity on 18.02.26 Wednesday to reinforce the concept of matching numbers with their number names.
The activity began with each child getting a chance to roll a dice. The children carefully counted the dots on the dice and identified the number. After recognizing the numeral, they searched for the corresponding number card displayed on the table.
Once the correct numeral was identified, the children then matched it with the appropriate number name. They confidently fixed the matching pair on the board and read the number name aloud.
This hands-on activity helped the children:
Strengthen number recognition skills
Develop counting ability
Improve reading of number names
Enhance focus and confidence
Learn through play in an interactive way
The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and actively participated with great enthusiasm. Learning truly became fun through this creative and practical approach!
Fruit and Vegetable Sorting A Fun Learning Experience by LKG
A Stage Filled With Little Smiles!!
Our kindergarteners brought the stage to life with their innocence, energy, and charm. Their skit was a delightful blend of creativity and confidence — proving that every tiny tot has a big story to tell!
PARTS OF THE PLANT BY LKG
To make learning more meaningful and enjoyable, a hands-on activity on “Parts of a Plant” was conducted for our LKG children on Wednesday, 29th October 2025. The objective of this activity was to help the children identify and name the different parts of a plant through real-life observation and exploration.
The children were provided with a model of the parts of a plant. With guidance from their teachers, the little learners carefully observed the plant and identified its major parts – root, stem, leaf, flower, and fruit. They enthusiastically pointed to each part and repeated the names aloud, which helped reinforce vocabulary as well as understanding.
This hands-on approach made the concept clear, engaging, and memorable.The young ones thoroughly enjoyed the activity.
This activity not only supported cognitive learning but also developed fine motor skills, observation skills, and environmental awareness among our little botanists. It was a joyful and meaningful learning experience for all!
PURPLE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Mater Dei International School celebrated Purple Day with great enthusiasm on 29th August 2025. The school was beautifully adorned in shades of purple, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere. Children actively participated in the celebration, dressed in lovely purple attire, adding to the charm of the event.
The program began with excitement and smiles all around as our little ones showcased their creativity and energy through songs and explained about objects connected to the theme. Their confidence and enthusiasm were truly praiseworthy, and each child contributed to making the day special.
We were honored by the gracious presence of our beloved Principal Ms. Neethu Thomas and our Assistant Correspondent Rev. Father Sachin, who joined in the celebration and motivated the children with their encouraging words. Their support and guidance made the occasion even more meaningful.
The day concluded with appreciation for our young learners who wholeheartedly participated and made the celebration a grand success. Their joyful involvement reflected not only their spirit of learning but also the vibrant culture of our school.
FRUITY FASHION SHOW
Our UKG children celebrated the joy of healthy eating through a delightful activity – “Fruity Fashion Show.” The program began on a graceful note with a soulful prayer song, followed by a cheerful welcome address by one of the little hosts.
The importance of eating fruits for good health was beautifully explained by a child, highlighting how fruits keep us strong and active. Thereafter, each child confidently came forward to speak a few lines about a fruit, sharing its name, color, and health benefits.
The most awaited moment was the ramp walk, where our little stars walked with pride, dressed up with cut outs of different fruits, spreading the message of “Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy.” The event was not only fun-filled but also an inspiring way to help children learn the value of nutritious food in their daily lives.
ORANGE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Our Kindergarten children joyfully celebrated Orange Day on Thursday, 14th August 2025. The little ones came dressed in vibrant shades of orange, filling the campus with brightness and cheer. The day began with a prayer song and an orange song . Children also spoke a few lines about the colour orange, enhancing their confidence and vocabulary. The celebration helped them understand the significance of the colour and added a lot of excitement to their learning.
Pink Day
Our KG kids joyfully celebrated Pink Day with enthusiasm and charm. The celebration began with a heartfelt prayer song, followed by a lively pink-themed song. A few confident little ones also spoke about different objects in pink, making the day vibrant and memorable. The event was a delightful way to blend learning with fun.”
Our LKG kids had an exciting time exploring the letter Ff through a fun activity called Hop, Trace and Find. Children hopped on letter cards, traced the uppercase and lowercase Ff, and enthusiastically found objects beginning with the letter. It was a joyful way to learn while staying active!
Exploring Letter Ee – A Fun Learning Activity!
Our LKG children had an exciting time learning the letter Ee through a hands-on activity. Using straws, they skillfully picked and dragged the cutouts of uppercase E and lowercase e to the correct position. This playful challenge not only helped them recognize and differentiate the two forms of the letter but also improved their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Learning became double the fun as the children giggled, competed, and cheered each other on!
🔢 Learning Numbers 1 to 5 ✋
Our LKG children had a fun-filled activity exploring numbers 1 to 5! 🎉
Through engaging games, hands-on activities, and colorful materials, little ones learned to recognize, count, and match numbers with objects. 🍎🍌🌸
This activity not only strengthened their number recognition but also helped them build early math skills with joy and confidence. The excitement of counting and discovering numbers made learning truly playful! 🌟
🐾 Puzzle Time with Animals 🧩
Our little learners from Lower Kindergarten had an exciting time solving animal puzzles! 🦁🐘🐒
Through this fun activity, children sharpened their thinking, improved hand–eye coordination, and learned to recognize different animals while putting the pieces together. The joy on their faces as the puzzles came to life was priceless! ✨
It was a perfect blend of play and learning – encouraging patience, problem-solving, and a love for the animal world. 🌍💚
Button Pasting Activity – Letter B
Our LKG A and B students enjoyed a creative button pasting activity to reinforce letter recognition. Children carefully placed colorful buttons along the shape of the letter B, building fine motor skills while having fun with learning.

This hands-on activity helped children strengthen letter recognition through tactile learning. By placing buttons along the letter B, they enhanced their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and focus. It also encouraged creativity, patience, and built confidence as they completed the task independently.
Sorting Capital ‘A’ and Small ‘a’
Our kindergarten learners practiced letter recognition through a fun sorting activity. Using alphabet cards and cut-outs, children identified and separated Capital ‘A’ and Small ‘a’ into different trays.
This simple exercise helped build early literacy skills, focus, and fine motor coordination—turning learning into an engaging, hands-on experience.

This simple yet effective activity encouraged children to observe closely, think critically, and work independently. It laid the groundwork for recognizing letter patterns as they begin their reading journey.
Sense Organs Activity – UKG
Our UKG students explored the wonders of the human body through a fun and interactive “Sense Organs Activity.” Each child participated in identifying the five senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell—using visual aids, props, and classroom displays. This hands-on learning encouraged curiosity and boosted their confidence in expressing what they observe and feel.
Classroom Impact
This activity strengthened early scientific thinking and communication skills. Children engaged in active learning, helping them retain concepts better. It also nurtured self-expression and built vocabulary while enhancing their understanding of how we experience the world around us.
Tiny Hands, Big Imagination! Fine motor skills activity of Pre KG
At Mater Dei International School, creativity begins early! Our vibrant Pre-KG learners recently took part in a joyful Coloring Activity designed to spark imagination and improve fine motor skills. Using brightly illustrated templates like flowers, umbrellas, and fish, our tiny tots explored the magic of colors with wide-eyed curiosity and cheerful smiles. With crayons in hand and hearts full of excitement, they filled their artwork with vibrant shades, giving life to their creativity.
This activity was not just about coloring inside the lines—it was about encouraging self-expression, recognizing colors, and enjoying the process of creating something uniquely their own. Guided gently by their teachers, each child was free to experiment and play with color, building confidence and joy in learning.

The Coloring Activity brought a wave of happiness and engagement to our Pre-KG classroom. It boosted children’s hand-eye coordination, color recognition, and focus, all while making learning fun. Activity on Shapes – Pre-KG
At Mater Dei International School, early learning is made engaging and joyful through hands-on activities that promote foundational concepts. Our Pre-KG students recently participated in a lively “Shapes Activity” using the Drag & Drop method. With colorful cut-outs of circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles spread across the floor, children enthusiastically identified and matched the shapes using small sticks and their fine motor skills.
This interactive session was designed to help our young learners visually recognize different shapes, understand spatial positioning, and enhance hand-eye coordination—all while having fun! The children eagerly moved around, picked the correct shapes, and proudly placed them in their respective spots, displaying both excitement and focus.
Classroom Impact
The Shapes Activity turned the classroom into an exciting space of movement, discovery, and learning. It supported cognitive development through shape recognition, language enrichment by naming the shapes, and physical coordination through active participation. Most importantly, it encouraged peer interaction and collaborative play. Roll and Jump – Letter D Activity (LKG)
At Mater Dei International School, learning alphabets is always an active and joyful experience! Our LKG children recently participated in a fun-filled “Roll and Jump” activity focused on identifying the letter D in both uppercase and lowercase forms.
In this playful learning session, children rolled a soft cube with different letter options and enthusiastically jumped onto the correct letter displayed on the floor. With every roll, the excitement grew as the little learners eagerly looked for the right letter and took a leap with confidence and delight!
Classroom Impact
This activity beautifully blended literacy with physical movement, making learning both engaging and effective. It helped children differentiate between uppercase ‘D’ and lowercase ‘d’, sharpened their letter recognition skills, and promoted gross motor development through jumping and movement.
Additionally, the activity encouraged turn-taking, following instructions, and building self-confidence. By incorporating motion and play, children stayed focused and enjoyed the learning process, making the concept of letters more memorable.

Letter B Activity – Pre-KG
At Mater Dei International School, early literacy is made joyful and hands-on! Our Pre-KG children recently explored the letter ‘B’ through a fun and interactive activity using colourful beads. With pre-drawn outlines of the letter ‘B’ on paper, our little learners carefully placed vibrant beads along the curves and lines—bringing the letter to life in their own creative way.
The activity aimed to help children visually recognize and shape the letter while engaging their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. As they picked up each bead and followed the outline, the children also began associating the letter ‘B’ with fun words like ball, banana, and butterfly—adding meaning to their learning journey.
Classroom Impact
This activity provided a multisensory approach to alphabet recognition. Children enhanced their fine motor skills, letter formation awareness, and concentration, all while having fun. It also encouraged independent thinking, patience, and creativity as each child added their own colourful touch to the letter.
